It depicts an autumnal landscape with the soft diffused morning light coming over the mountains. The trees in the foreground loom over the hunters as they gaze into the sky while the retriever waits patiently at their feet. Trickett has executed a romantic and highly detailed work in the overall composition. It is signed lower right and dated 1980, displayed in the original giltwood frame.
