Welcome to Faded Rose Antiques!
A Cote d’Azur Holiday, Part 1
God put his glory on display when he created France. Some have described it as a magical place. From the haunting beauty of Paris to the bucolic charm of its ancient medieval villages, he gets the praise and we get the pleasure.
My husband and I recently returned from touring the South of France buying antiques. We spent several days in Carnon, a quiet seaside village on the Cote d’Azur. Our hotel was poised on a marina in the Languedoc region, west of better known Provence. From our window, we had a lovely view of the pool, marina and could just glimpse the Mediterranean Sea beyond. The location was perfect with plenty of small restaurants, bistros and a broad boardwalk for strolling. The broad expanse of beach and sparkling sea beckoned us for afternoon walks after a glace at an open air cafe. Some days we ordered a carafe of rose, the light fruity pink wine of the region - such were our decisions and delights after a hectic day of buying.
