Large Antique English Mocha Ware Jug Pitcher

$595.00

A very large English mochaware or mocha ware jug or pitcher, circa 1850. It was hand made and hand painted in Staffordshire, England. It is decorated with wide colored bands and has an applied handle. These pieces are very rare and highly collectible, especially one such a large size..

Mocha Ware is a type of dipped ware (slip-decorated, lathe-turned, utilitarian earthenware) to colored slip bands on white and buff-colored bodies

Dimensions: 10” Length x 6.75” Width x 8.5” Height

Condition is very good. Small chip to foot, not visible when upright, manufacturing pop to body as shown. There are a couple faint lines on the base from the manufacturing process. This lovely old collectible pitcher is water tight. These rare pieces seldom are in such good condition as this.
