Fine quality large antique Italian charger circa 1700, probably Deruta. This massive faience tin glazed charger is hand painted with 3 celebrating cavalier styled figures, a seascape and a landscape. The entire surface is painted with scenes including a ship, flags and a building. Deruta a medieval hilltown in Umbria, Italy, is mainly known as a major centre for the production of this kind of earthenware from the late 1400's. The charger is a substantial 15.75" in diameter.
