An antique one gallon English copper haystack ale and spirits measure. It is constructed with a dovetail seam. This lovely old pitcher is called 'haystack' because it has the shape of a stack of hay. It was used in a pub for cider, ale or spirits. It retains the original lead seal denoting authenticated size approved by the crown and weighs almost 4 pounds.
